  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3 tablespoons ground mustard
  • whole cloves, to taste
  • 1/2 cup apricot preserves

Directions

Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.

Step 2 -Place a wire rack in a shallow roasting pan.

Step 3 -Place the ham on the wire rack, then use a sharp knife to score 1/2-inch-deep cuts in a diamond pattern over its entire surface.

Step 4 -In a small bowl, add the brown sugar and the ground mustard and mix to combine.

Step 5 -Evenly rub the brown sugar mixture over the ham's surface.

Step 6 -Stud the cloves into the crosscuts on the ham's surface to form a pattern around the top and the sides.

Step 7 -Bake the ham, uncovered, for 1 hour.

Step 8 -Transfer the roasting pan to a wire rack and evenly spread the apricot preserves over the top of the ham.

Step 9 -Transfer the roasting pan to the oven and bake the glazed ham until it reaches an internal temperature of 140 degrees F, about 15-30 minutes.

Step 10 -Slice the ham and serve.
