Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 5 eggs
  • 2/3 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (9-inch) pie crust, unbaked, store-bought or homemade

Directions

Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 -In a large bowl, add the granulated sugar and the flour and whisk to combine.

Step 3 -Add the eggs and the buttermilk to the sugar-flour mixture and with an electric hand mixer on medium speed, beat to combine.

Step 4 -Add the melted butter and the vanilla extract to the filling mixture and stir to combine.

Step 5 -Evenly pour the filling mixture into the unbaked pie crust.

Step 6 -Bake until the filling is set, about 45 minutes.

Step 7 -Transfer the pie from the oven to a wire rack and let it cool completely.

Step 8 -With a sharp knife, cut the pie into serving-sized pieces.

Step 9 -Serve.
