  • 8 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • salt, to taste
  • ground black pepper, to taste
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil

Directions

Step 1 -Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2 -Season the chicken generously with salt and pepper.

Step 3 -In an oven-proof skillet (such as a cast iron), melt 2 tablespoons of butter.

Step 4 -Cook the chicken skin-side down until golden.

Step 5 -Remove the chicken from the skillet and place it on a plate.

Step 6 -Add the remaining tablespoon of butter to the skillet.

Step 7 -Add the garlic and cook until fragrant.

Step 8 -Turn off the heat source.

Step 9 -Add the brown sugar, honey, oregano, thyme, and basil to the garlic butter and stir to combine.

Step 10 -Add the chicken back in the skillet, and place it in the oven to cook for 25-30 minutes.

Step 11 -Serve warm over any side of your choice.
