- 1 bay leaf
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Directions
Step 1 -Add the corned beef, fat side up, to the slow cooker.
Step 2 -Add the spice packets, minced garlic, pepper, and sugar to the top of the meat, rubbing it on.
Step 3 -Add the bay leaf and vinegar off to the side of the corned beef.
Step 4 -Add just enough water to come up 1/4 of the way to the top of the meat.
Step 5 -Cook on low heat, covered, for 8-9 hours.
Step 6 -If the corned beef isn't browned on top, put it under a broiler for 1-2 minutes in an oven-safe container. Keep careful watch, as you don't want to burn it!
Step 7 -Carve and serve hot!
