  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 6 tablespoons butter, melted, divided
  • 2 1/4 cups half-and-half cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (9-inch) pie crust, baked, homemade or store-bought
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions

Step 1 -Preheat the oven broiler to high.

Step 2 -In a saucepan over medium heat, add the cornstarch and the sugar and stir to combine.

Step 3 -Add 4 tablespoons of the butter and the half-and-half to the sugar mixture and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture boils and becomes thick and creamy.

Step 4 -Transfer the saucepan from the heat.

Step 5 -Stir in the vanilla.

Step 6 -Pour the cream mixture into the pie crust.

Step 7 -Drizzle the top of the cream mixture with the remaining melted butter.
