- 1/4 cup apple juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Directions
Step 1 -Combine the apples, brown sugar, apple juice, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt in a large, heavy saucepan.
Step 2 -Cover and cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender, about 45 minutes.
Step 3 -Let the apples sit for 5 minutes.
