There's nothing more American than these All-American Bacon Cheeseburgers. Nothing. Not even bald eagles feel more patriotic than the juicy, savory beef patties, topped with melty slabs of cheese and crispy, succulent bacon strips. Served on classic toasted buns with all the fixings, All-American Bacon Cheeseburgers are equal only to apple pie when it comes to Fourth of July dishes! Ingredients
- For the bacon cheeseburgers:
- 2 tablespoons onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon steak sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon cider vinegar
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
- 4 hamburger buns, split and toasted
- 8 strips bacon, cooked
- Optional toppings:
- lettuce leaves, to taste
- tomato, to taste, sliced
- onion, to taste, sliced
- pickle slices, to taste
Directions
Step 1 -In a large bowl, add the 2 tablespoons of the chopped onion, the ketchup, the garlic, the sugar, the Worcestershire sauce, the steak sauce, and the cider vinegar and stir briefly to combine.
Step 2 -Add the beef to the ketchup mixture by crumbling it over top, then mix it together until well-combined, and shape into 4 burger patties.
Step 3 -Preheat the grill to medium heat. Add the patties to the hot grill and cook, flipping them once, until they reach an internal temperature of 135 degrees F for medium-rare doneness, 145 degrees F for medium doneness, and 155 degrees F for well-done, about 2-4 minutes per side.
Step 4 -Add 1 slice of the cheddar cheese to each of the patties and allow the cheese to melt, about 1 minute.
Step 5 -Transfer the burgers to the bottoms of the buns and top them evenly with the bacon strips.
Step 6 -Serve with the lettuce, the tomatoes, the remaining onions, and the pickles.
