Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (9-inch) pastry crust, store-bought or homemade

Directions

Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 -Beat the butter and the sugar in a large mixing bowl until creamy.

Step 3 -Add the flour, the salt, and the eggs to the butter mixture and beat until smooth.

Step 4 -Add the buttermilk, the lemon juice, and the vanilla to the filling mixture and blend well.

Step 5 -Pour the filling into the pie crust.

Step 6 -Place the pie pan on a cookie sheet and bake until it is lightly browned on top and mostly set, about 50-55 minutes.

Step 7 -Place the pie on a wire rack to cool.

Step 8 -Slice and serve.
