The meat is juicy and savory, mixed with fragrant garlic and zesty ranch, pan seared for a crisp exterior, and topped with melty and nutty Swiss cheese. Ingredients
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 3 tablespoons ranch dressing
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- hamburger buns, optional, to taste, split, for serving
Directions
Step 1 -In a medium bowl, add the turkey, the onions, the garlic, the salt, the pepper, and the ranch dressing and using your clean hands, mix to combine.
Step 2 -Form the turkey mixture into 4 patties, about 3/4-inch-thick each.
Step 3 -Transfer the patties to a clean plate and cover them with plastic wrap.
Step 4 -Transfer the plate to the refrigerator and chill the patties for 30 minutes.
Step 5 -Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Step 6 -Fit a wire rack over a baking pan.
Step 7 -In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the oil.
Step 8 -Add the patties to the heated oil and cook until they are browned, about 4 minutes per side.
Step 9 -Transfer the browned patties to the prepared baking pan and bake until they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees F, about 9 minutes.
Step 10 -Add 1 slice of the Swiss cheese to each of the patties and bake until the cheese has melted, about 1 minute.
Step 11 -Serve on the hamburger buns.
