Ingredients
- For the dip:
- 1 pound ground pork sausage
- 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese
- 1 cup jarred chunky salsa
- For serving:
- scallions, to taste, thinly sliced
- cilantro, to taste, chopped
- tortilla chips, to taste
Directions
Step 1 -Heat a 10-inch cast-iron skillet over medium heat until it is very hot.
Step 2 -Add the sausage and cook, while crumbling with a wooden spoon, until it is no longer pink, about 6 minutes.
Step 3 -Reduce the heat to medium-low.
Step 4 -Add the cream cheese to the cooked sausage and break it up into small pieces.
Step 5 -Add the salsa and stir well to combine.
Step 6 -Continue to cook and stir until all of the cream cheese has melted, about 3 minutes.
Step 7 -Transfer the skillet from the heat and top with the scallions and the cilantro.
Step 8 -Serve the dip directly out of the skillet with the tortilla chips.
