Ingredients
- For the bread:
- 1/2 pound bacon, chopped
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 tablespoon steak seasoning
- 12 ounces Velveeta®, cubed
- 1 (11-ounce) package refrigerated thin-crust pizza dough
- 1 1/2 cups Cheddar-Jack cheese, grated
- For the sauce:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
Step 2 -Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 3 -In a large skillet over medium-low heat, add the bacon and cook until crisp, about 8-10 minutes.
Step 4 -Transfer the bacon to a paper-towel-lined plate to drain.
Step 5 -Reserve about 1 tablespoon of the bacon drippings in the skillet, draining the remainder.
Step 6 -In the same skillet over medium-high heat, add the onions and the ground beef and cook, while crumbling the meat, until the onions are soft and the beef is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
Step 7 -Drain the excess grease from the skillet.
Step 8 -Return the beef mixture to the skillet and place it over low heat.
Step 9 -Add the bacon and the steak seasoning to the skillet and stir to combine.
Step 10 -Add the Velveeta to the skillet and stir continuously until the cheese is melted.
Step 11 -Transfer the pan away from the heat.
Step 12 -Roll the pizza dough out on the prepared baking sheet into a 15x10-inch rectangle.
Step 13 -Spread the meat mixture evenly on top of the pizza dough, leaving a 1-inch at the edges to allow for spreading.
Step 14 -Top the meat mixture with the Cheddar-Jack cheese.
Step 15 -Starting with the long sides, roll the pizza dough up, pinching the edges together to seal.
Step 16 -Bake, seam-side down, until golden-brown, about 15-20 minutes.
Step 17 -Allow the bread to cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
Step 18 -In a bowl, add the mayonnaise, the ketchup, the salt, and the pepper and whisk to combine.
Step 19 -Serve the bread with the dip.
