Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 6 1/4 cups wide egg noodles, cooked and drained
  • 2 (10.75-ounce) cans condensed tomato soup
  • 1 (10.5-ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • green onions, optional, to taste, sliced, for garnish

Directions

Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 -Grease a 3-quart baking dish.

Step 3 -In a large skillet, cook the beef over medium heat, while crumbling, until it is no longer pink, about 8-10 minutes.

Step 4 -Drain the fat from the skillet.

Step 5 -Transfer the beef from the skillet.

Step 6 -In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

Step 7 -Add the onions and the peppers, cooking and stirring until tender, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 8 -Stir in the beef, the Worcestershire sauce, the noodles, the tomato soup, and the cream of mushroom soup.

Step 9 -Transfer the beef mixture to the prepared baking dish.

Step 10 -Top the beef mixture with the cheese.

Step 11 -Bake uncovered until heated through, about 15-20 minutes.
