Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 red onions, chopped
  • 2 apples, such as Granny Smith, chopped
  • 1 (14-ounce) package kielbasa, sliced
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • garlic salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste
  • dried thyme, to taste
  • dried sage, to taste
  • fresh parsley, optional, to taste, chopped, for garnish
  • rice, optional, to taste, cooked and warm, for serving

Directions

Step 1 -Heat the butter in a skillet over medium heat.

Step 2 -Add the onions and the apples and sauté until slightly caramelized, for about 5-10 minutes.

Step 3 -Add the kielbasa, the brown sugar, the cinnamon, the paprika, the garlic salt, the pepper, the thyme, and the sage.

Step 4 -Cover, reduce the heat to low, and cook until heated through and the sauce has melted into a glaze-like consistency, about 10 minutes.

Step 5 -Garnish with the fresh parsley and serve over the rice!
