  • 1 pound lean ground beef, 90% lean
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 2/3 cups brown rice, cooked, hot
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced

Directions

Step 1 -In a large skillet, cook the beef and garlic over medium heat until the beef is no longer pink, about 6-8 minutes. Break the beef into crumbles as it cooks.

Step 2 -In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, red pepper flakes, and pepper.

Step 3 -Stir the sauce into the beef and cook until heated through, for about 2-3 minutes.
