Ingredients

  • For the turkey bake:
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 1 (8-ounce) carton mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (10.5-ounce) condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 1/3 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 cup havarti cheese, shredded, divided
  • 3 cups leftover turkey breast, shredded
  • 3 cups penne pasta, cooked
  • For the topping:
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • fresh parsley, to taste, chopped, for garnish

Directions

Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Step 2 -Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Step 3 -In a skillet over medium heat, add 3 tablespoons of the butter, the onions, the mushrooms, and the garlic and cook until they are tender, about 5 minutes.

Step 4 -In a large bowl, add the cream of chicken soup, the mushroom mixture, the milk, the seasoned salt, the dried basil, and 1/2 cup of the cheese and stir to combine.

Step 5 -Fold the turkey and the pasta into the mushroom mixture.

Step 6 -In a small bowl, add the remaining melted butter and the breadcrumbs and stir to combine.

Step 7 -Spread the turkey mixture into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle with the remaining cheese and the coated breadcrumbs.

Step 8 -Bake the turkey bake until it is hot and bubbly, about 30-35 minutes.

Step 9 -Garnish the turkey bake with the fresh parsley and serve.
