This Roasted Okra is perfect to serve up next to a bowl of gumbo, a plate of fried chicken, or any other Southern classic. The roasting helps to bring out the mild flavor of the veggie, highlighted by the simple seasonings all over! Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh okra
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
Step 2 -Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with foil.
Step 3 -Rinse the okra and dry it with a kitchen towel.
Step 4 -Trim the ends off of the okra.
Step 5 -Place the okra in a large bowl and toss with the olive oil, the salt, the pepper, and the garlic powder.
Step 6 -Transfer the okra to the prepared baking sheet.
Step 7 -Roast, stirring halfway through, until the okra is lightly browned and tender, about 20 minutes.
Step 8 -Serve.
