Transform your boring dinner into a firework show! Bang-Bang Broccoli brings the boom, boom, boom with its crispy crunch and sweet and spicy sauce. You might as well not have a main course with these bites because they're sure to take the lead in flavor and fun! Sparks will fly with Bang-Bang Broccoli! Make mealtime a satisfying spectacle!
Ingredients
- For the broccoli:
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 cup soy milk
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
- 3/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 tablespoon onion powder
- 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
- 1 head broccoli, cut into bite-size florets
- For the spicy mayo:
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon sweet chili sauce, store-bought or homemade
- 2 teaspoons sriracha
- 1/2 teaspoon maple syrup
- Optional toppings:
- sesame seeds, to taste
- fresh chives, to taste
- spring onions, to taste
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Step 2 -Line a large baking tray with parchment paper.
Step 3 -In a bowl, add the flour.
Step 4 -In a second bowl, add the milk and the apple cider vinegar and stir. Then, let it rest, about 3-5 minutes.
Step 5 -Add 1 tablespoon of the sriracha to the milk mixture and stir to combine.
Step 6 -In a third bowl, add the panko, the onion powder, the garlic powder, the salt, and the pepper and stir to combine.
Step 7 -Fully coat the broccoli florets with the flour, then the milk mixture, and finally into the panko mixture.
Step 8 -Place the coated florets on the prepared baking tray and bake until they are golden-brown, about 20-25 minutes.
Step 9 -While the broccoli is baking, in a bowl, add the mayonnaise, the sweet chili sauce, the remaining sriracha, and the maple syrup and stir to combine.
Step 10 -In a large bowl, add the baked broccoli and the spicy mayo and toss until the florets are coated.
Step 11 -Serve the broccoli garnished with the sesame seeds, the chives, and the spring onions.
