Ingredients
- For the marinade:
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- For the sandwich:
- 4 (6-ounce) chicken breasts, pounded to 1/2-inch thickness
- 4 sesame seed buns, halved
- olive oil, optional, to taste
- 1/4 cup honey mustard or mayonnaise
- Optional, for topping:
- cheese, of your choice, to taste, sliced
- lettuce, to taste
- tomatoes, to taste, sliced
- onions, to taste, sliced
Directions
Step 1 -In a zipper bag or large bowl, combine the vegetable oil, the cider vinegar, the Dijon mustard, the garlic powder, the brown sugar, the salt, and the pepper in a bowl.
Step 2 -Toss the chicken breasts in the marinade and allow them to marinate for 30 minutes and up to 4 hours.
Step 3 -Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
Step 4 -Grill the chicken breasts until they are no longer pink and they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees F, about 5-6 minutes per side.
Step 5 -Brush the cut sides of the buns with the olive oil.
Step 6 -Lightly toast the buns on the grill, cut-side down.
Step 7 -Add the honey mustard to the buns, then 1 of the chicken breasts and your favorite toppings.
Step 8 -Serve!
