About
Ah, there's just so much to love about autumn. The weather is crisp, there are plenty of fun activities to participate in, and (our favorite) the food! There's pumpkin-flavored everything everywhere, which we love, but we think it's time to give apples a place in the spotlight. Fall Bubble-Up Bake showcases some juicy, freshly picked apples with some warm and fluffy cinnamon rolls. Um, yum! Don't even get us started about the gooey, rich cream cheese goodness tossed in and the creamy icing drizzled on top. We think we just found one more reason why we love this time of the year so much! Start your fall morning off in the most delicious way with some Fall Bubble-Up Bake!
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter
- 5 small apples, cored and thinly sliced
- 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, cubed
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 (17.5-ounce, 5-count) can refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 -Coat a 13x9-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Step 3 -In a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat, melt the butter.
Step 4 -Add the apples to the butter and cook, stirring frequently, until they have softened and are beginning to brown, about 10-12 minutes.
Step 5 -Transfer the skillet from the heat.
Step 6 -In a large microwave-safe bowl, add the cream cheese and the powdered sugar and microwave on high heat, stirring every 30 seconds until softened, for 1 minute.
Step 7 -Transfer the bowl from the microwave and stir the cream cheese mixture until smooth. Slowly stir in the milk.
Step 8 -Stir the apple mixture into the cream cheese mixture.
Step 9 -Separate the cinnamon roll dough into five rolls and return its icing packet to the refrigerator.
Step 10 -Cut each of the cinnamon rolls into six pieces and stir them into the apple mixture.
Step 11 -Pour the apple mixture into the prepared baking dish.
Step 12 -Bake the apple bake until it is bubbling around the edges and the dough is baked through, about 26-32 minutes.
Step 13 -Let the apple bake stand for 10 minutes.
Step 14 -Squeeze the reserved icing packet into a quart-sized resealable plastic bag. Cut one corner with kitchen scissors, then drizzle over the apple bake.
Step 15 -Serve.
