Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon blood orange zest
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt, optional
  • 1 cup tequila
  • 1 cup blood orange juice, chilled
  • 1/2 cup lime juice
  • 1/4 cup triple sec
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup, homemade or store-bought
  • 1 lime wedge
  • ice cubes, to taste
  • blood orange slices, optional, to taste, for garnish
  • lime slices, optional, to taste, for garnish

Directions

Step 1 -On a small plate, add the blood orange zest and the salt and stir to combine.

Step 2 -In a pitcher, add the tequila, the blood orange juice, the lime juice, the triple sec, and the simple syrup and stir to combine.

Step 3 -Rub the rims of six serving glasses with the lime wedge.

Step 4 -Dip the rims of the serving glasses in the salt mixture.

Step 5 -Fill the serving glasses with the ice cubes.

Step 6 -Evenly add the cocktail mixture to each of the serving glasses.

Step 7 -Serve garnished with the blood orange slices and the lime slices.
