Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds round steak, cut into thin strips
- 1 green bell pepper, thickly sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, thickly sliced
- 1/2 onion, thickly sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons cold water
- white rice, to taste, cooked and warm, for serving
- sesame seeds, to taste, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 -In a slow cooker, add the steak strips, the green bell peppers, the red bell peppers, and the onions.
Step 2 -Add the ginger, the garlic powder, the black pepper, the brown sugar, the soy sauce, and the beef broth to the steak mixture and stir to combine.
Step 3 -Cover the slow cooker and cook the steak mixture until the meat is cooked through and very tender, about 2 hours 30 minutes-3 hours on high heat or about 5-6 hours on low heat.
Step 4 -In a small bowl, add the cornstarch and the cold water and whisk to combine.
Step 5 -Stir the slurry into the beef mixture, then cook on high heat until the sauce is thickened, about 30 minutes-1 hour.
Step 6 -Serve the beef mixture over the rice and garnish with the sesame seeds.
