Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water, 110 degrees F
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour

Directions

Step 1 -Dissolve the yeast into the warm water.

Step 2 -Then add in the honey, and mix well.

Step 3 -Add in the whole wheat flour, salt, and vegetable oil. Gradually mix in the all-purpose flour.

Step 4 -Move the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for at least 10-15 minutes.

Step 5 -When the dough is smooth and elastic, place it into a well oiled bowl.

Step 6 -Move the dough several times in the bowl to cover the surface of the dough, and then cover it with a damp cloth.

Step 7 -Allow it to rise in a warm place until it is doubled in bulk, around 45 minutes.

Step 8 -Punch the dough to collapse it.

Step 9 -Shape it into the two loaves, and then place the loaves into two well-greased 9 by 5 inch pans.

Step 10 -Let them rise until the dough is 1-1 1/2 inches above the pans.

Step 11 -Then bake the loaves at 375 degrees F for around 25-30 minutes.

Step 12 -Let the dough cool as much as possible to ensure the best crumb of your bread.

Step 13 -Serve with whatever toppings or spread you desire!
