There's something really special about waking up early. The beauty of the morning dew glittering as the sun rises is such a sweet sight to see to start your day. Some would even call it magical. And to keep that fairytale-esque vibe going, after taking in the sunrise, head to the kitchen for some Morning Magic Casserole. This super simple bake, filled with spicy sausage and rich cream cheese, will make your happily-ever-after come to life. The warm, crispy crescent roll that embraces the filling will resemble the golden sunbeams you were just admiring; a sweet reminder for sure! What an enchanting day this will be! This marvelous Morning Magic Casserole is just the beginning!
Ingredients
- 1 pound bulk pork sausage
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 (8-ounce) cans refrigerated crescent rolls
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Step 2 -Grease the bottom of a 9x11-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Step 3 -Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the sausage and cook, while crumbling, until it is browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain and discard the grease.
Step 4 -Add the cream cheese to the sausage and stir to combine.
Step 5 -Roll out the crescent roll dough from one can into the bottom of the prepared baking dish without separating it.
Step 6 -Bake the dough for 8 minutes.
Step 7 -Spread the sausage mixture over the baked dough and top with the remaining crescent roll dough.
Step 8 -Bake the casserole until the top layer is golden-brown, about 15-20 minutes.
Step 9 -Serve.
