Ingredients

  • 2 cups long grain white rice, uncooked
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons chicken bouillon
  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley, plus more, to taste, for garnish
  • 4 tablespoons plus 1 tablespoon butter, divided
  • 3 1/3-3 1/2 cups chicken broth or water

Directions

Step 1 -In a large saucepan or a cast-iron skillet, add the rice, the onion powder, the garlic powder, the paprika, the thyme, the salt, the pepper, the chicken bouillon, the crushed red pepper, 1 tablespoon of the parsley, 4 tablespoons of the butter, and the chicken broth, stirring to combine.

Step 2 -Place the saucepan on the stove and bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.

Step 3 -Once the mixture starts to bubble, cover and reduce the heat to low.

Step 4 -Simmer until all of the liquid is fully absorbed, about 18-20 minutes.

Step 5 -Let the rice rest for 5 minutes.

Step 6 -Add the remaining butter to the rice.

Step 7 -Fluff the rice with a fork.

Step 8 -Serve garnished with the extra parsley.
