Ingredients
- For the pie:
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 (15-ounce) can pumpkin purée
- 2/3 cup heavy cream
- 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- For the topping:
- 1/2 cup toasted pecans, roughly chopped
- 1/4 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 5 tablespoons butter, melted
- vanilla ice cream, optional, to taste, for serving
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Step 2 -Grease a medium skillet.
Step 3 -In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and the sugar until thoroughly combined and smooth.
Step 4 -Add the pumpkin purée, the heavy cream, the pumpkin pie spice, and 1/2 teaspoon of the salt and whisk together until smooth.
Step 5 -Pour the pumpkin mixture into the greased skillet.
Step 6 -In a separate large bowl, combine the pecans, the oats, the flour, the brown sugar, the cinnamon, and the remaining salt, mixing until everything is evenly distributed.
Step 7 -Add the melted butter and stir until the pecan mixture comes together to form crumbs.
Step 8 -Top the pumpkin mixture with the pecan topping.
Step 9 -Bake until the topping is golden-brown, about 45 minutes.
Step 10 -Serve warm topped with the ice cream!
