Strawberry Angel Food Delight is... well it's really something else! It's strawberry shortcake minus the shortcake, but, plus a brand-new cake experience! Super tender angel food cake forms the base with a creamy and tangy cream cheese frosting on top! Ingredients
- 1 (10-inch) angel food cake, store-bought or homemade, cut or crumbled into bite-size pieces
- 2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 (8-ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 1 (32-ounce) package fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 (18-ounce) jar strawberry glaze
- whipped cream, optional, to taste, for topping
Directions
Step 1 -In a 9x13-inch baking dish, add the angel food cake pieces and spread them out as evenly as possible.
Step 2 -Press the cake pieces down slightly to form a crust-like layer.
Step 3 -In a medium bowl, add the cream cheese and the white sugar and using an electric hand mixer on medium speed, beat until light and fluffy.
Step 4 -Add the whipped topping to the cream cheese mixture and fold gently to combine.
Step 5 -Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cake layer in the baking dish.
Step 6 -In a bowl, add the strawberries and the glaze and stir until the strawberries are evenly coated.
Step 7 -Spread the strawberry-glaze mixture over the cream cheese layer.
Step 8 -Cover and chill the baking dish for at least 1 hour.
Step 9 -Plate the dessert or scoop into small Mason jars.
Step 10 -Top with the whipped cream and serve.
