Ingredients
- For the pizza:
- cornmeal, for dusting a baking sheet
- all-purpose flour, for dusting a work surface
- 1 (16-ounce) package refrigerated pizza dough, room temperature
- 8 ounces lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/2 cup extra-sharp cheddar, coarsely grated
- For the salad:
- 1 head butter lettuce, torn
- 1/2 pint cherry tomatoes, quartered
- 1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- kosher salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
Step 2 -Dust a baking sheet with the cornmeal.
Step 3 -Lightly dust a work surface with the flour.
Step 4 -Add the pizza dough to the prepared work surface and shape it into a 14-16-inch oval.
Step 5 -Transfer the pizza dough oval to the prepared baking sheet.
Step 6 -In a large skillet over medium heat, add the beef and cook, while crumbling, until it is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
Step 7 -Transfer the beef from the heat.
Step 8 -Add the barbecue sauce to the beef and stir to combine.
Step 9 -Spoon the beef mixture evenly over the pizza dough.
Step 10 -Sprinkle the beef mixture with the cheddar cheese.
Step 11 -Bake the pizza until the crust is golden-brown and crisp, about 20-25 minutes.
Step 12 -In a large bowl, add the lettuce, the tomatoes, the onions, the oil, the salt, and the pepper and toss to combine.
Step 13 -Top the pizza with the salad mixture.
