Ingredients
- 8 ounces penne pasta
- 1 pound ground beef
- 6 strips bacon, diced
- 1 (10.75-ounce) can condensed tomato soup
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- barbecue sauce, to taste, for serving
Directions
Step 1 -In a large pot of salted, boiling water, cook the penne to al dente, according to the package directions. Drain the water.
Step 2 -While the pasta is cooking, in a large skillet over medium heat, cook the beef, while crumbling, until it is no longer pink.
Step 3 -Drain the excess grease and add the cooked beef to a bowl.
Step 4 -In the same skillet, cook the diced bacon until it is crisp.
Step 5 -Use a slotted spoon to transfer the cooked bacon to drain on paper towels. Discard the drippings from the skillet.
Step 6 -In the same skillet over medium heat, add the cooked penne, then stir in the tomato soup, the water, the cooked beef, and the cooked bacon and cook until it is heated through.
Step 7 -Transfer the skillet from the heat and sprinkle with the cheese.
Step 8 -Cover the skillet and let the pasta mixture stand until the cheese has melted, about 2-3 minutes.
Step 9 -Serve the pasta mixture drizzled with the barbecue sauce.
